Today’s Take The Fed's first count of private credit in the national accounts, at more than $2.6tn, leads a Thursday slate that pairs Ares Capital's third-quarter miss and AI-funded financings with Advent's $30bn buyout close, the mounting debt load on PE portfolios, fresh pension commitments, and law firms on SEC valuation and retail-access plans. 24 stories

The Federal Reserve has added private credit to the Financial Accounts of the United States, sizing the sector at over $2.6tn of assets with $349bn of bank lending into it at end-2025. For GPs it is an official baseline that regulators can now use to frame capital and disclosure questions. For allocators it turns a sector tracked by estimates into one with a public yardstick.
